President, PM mourn death of Prof Abdul Quddus
President MD Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Natore district Awami League (AL) President, Member of Parliament from Natore-4 (Gurudaspur-Baraigram) constituency and valiant freedom fighter Professor Abdul Quddus on Wednesday, August 30.
In a message, President said, the Head of State prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Prime Minister also expressed her condolence in a message, said, "Throughout his life, he (Quddus) has performed his organisational responsibilities by remaining steadfast to the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the politics of Awami League."
Sheikh Hasina said, "Abdul Quddus gained place in the hearts of the common people of his constituency as well as the entire Natore district."
He breathed the last today, at a private hospital of the Capital Dhaka. He was 77.
Kuddus, was a freedom fighter, president of Natore district unit of Awami League, was elected MP of Natore-4 constituency for five times.
