Prime minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel which is constructed beneath the Karnaphuli River on October 28 next.
Secretary of the Bridges Division, Md Monjur Hossain confirmed the news. But the tunnel will open for vehicular movement from October 29.

Earlier on Tuesday, the preparatory meeting on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman tunnel opening ceremony held at Chattogram Circuit House.
"The tunnel is a matter of pride not only for Chattogram but for the entire nation. We can say that the tunnel has been prepared under the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he added.
