Moon not sighted, Eid on Thursday

The moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the sky of the country. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting committee on Tuesday (April 9) evening.

Eid-ul-Fitr "festival of breaking the fast" will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia and other European countries on Wednesday (April 10) as the moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the Middle East on Monday (April 8).

Meanwhile, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in different districts of Bangladesh on Wednesday (April 10) in conformity with Saudi Arabia.
