The Meteorological Department has predicted a storm with a speed of 80 km over 16 regions of the country including Dhaka.
This information was given in a forecast for the inland river ports of the country till 1 pm on Wednesday (May 8).
According to the forecast, over Rangpur, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Madaripur, Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions there passes a gusty winds at 60 to 80 km per hour from west or north-west direction. Temporarily wind with heavy rain or thundershowers.
The river ports in these areas have been asked to display naval warning signal number two.
Meanwhile, many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions and some places of Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience temporarily gusty winds or rain with thunder by 6 pm today. Along with this, there may be scattered hailstorms in some parts of the country.
