Pakistan's brokers talk about selling the country: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that those who talk about selling the country were the brokers of Pakistan in 1971.
The Prime Minister made this comment at a press conference organized at Gonobhaban on Tuesday (June 25) around 11:00 am regarding her recent visit to India. Basically, she said this in response to the criticism raised about the construction of a new railway line carrying Indian goods through the country.
The Prime Minister said, what is the problem in transit through a country? There is no border in Europe. Did they sell the country to each other? Then why not in South Asia? Do people close the doors and windows? As a result of this connectivity, business will expand. The people of the country will be benefited.
She said, we have agreed to cooperate wholeheartedly for the welfare of Bangladesh and India. We discussed ways and means of mutual cooperation and engagement.
Addressing the critics, the Prime Minister said, those who talk about selling the country, are actually selling to India. Zia, Ershad, Khaleda Zia went to India despite India's opposition. Sheikh Hasina does not sell the country, because we made this country independent. Those who talk about selling the country, are ones who brokered of Pakistan in '71.
