Leaders of the student movement against discrimination, the platform of general students, have announced blockade programs across the country again. Thy also announced that the student strike and class-exam boycott program will be closed indefinitely.
Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the movement, announced the new program at the end of the blockade program at Shahbagh at 8 pm on Sunday (July 7).
The anti-quota students blocked the Shahbagh intersection for more than five hours. Similar programs were held in other parts of the capital. The city dwellers suffered a lot due to traffic congestion.
While announcing the program, the protesters said, 'We have received an unprecedented response to the blockade program. We proved in 2018 that our demand is acceptable.'
They said that, 'All types of quotas should be abolished. The quota should be abolished by passing a law in parliament. Otherwise, our program will continue. Our previously announced indefinite class-exam boycott will continue from tomorrow. Blockade programs will be observed across the country from 3:30 pm.'
