Blockade of railways in Mohakhali, train movement stopped
Quota reform activists blocked the railway tracks in Mohakhali and Nakhalpara areas of the capital as part of the 'Complete Shutdown' program called by the anti-discrimination student movement. As a result, rail communication with Dhaka across the country has been stopped since 12 noon on Thursday (July 18).
Station Master of Kamalapur Anwar Hossain confirmed this information to the media and said that railway tracks remain disrupted in Mohakhali and Nakhalpara areas. It disrupting train movement.
The agitators have announced 'Complete Shutdown' program after clashes between the police and Chhatra League in different parts of the country in the last two days.
Due to this program, there has been a public transport crisis in the capital since morning. The working people have suffered greatly.
Meanwhile, Dhaka-Chattogram highway has been blocked due to road blockade in Shonir Akhra and Matuail of the capital. There have been reports of clashes between students and the police in front of BRAC University. The agitating students have taken positions at various points of the capital including Uttara, Mirpur, Motijheel.
Incidentally, the agitating students are observing 'Complete Shutdown' today to demand the brutal attack of police-BGB-RAB and SWAT on the peaceful movement of the students, protesting the murder, trial of the murderers, ensuring a terror-free campus and rational reform of the quota system. During this program, everything except hospitals, media and other emergency services will be closed.
