Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Detective Branch (DB), are conducting drives to arrest those involved in the violence surrounding the quota reform movement across the country. Police are conducting drives including the area around the sabotage spot. If in doubt, the mobile phone is verified. If there is any sign of involvement in murder or sabotage, they are being detained. So far, at least 159 cases have been filed with different police stations across the country, including the capital, in connection with the violence. A total of 2,747 people were arrested in these cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has so far filed 38 cases in connection with the incident. A total of 1,117 people were arrested in these cases. A total of 1,630 people were arrested in at least 121 cases outside Dhaka. Most of them are BNP and Jamaat activists. They are several BNP leaders including Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Saiful Alam Nirob, Rafiqul Alam Majnu and former MP M Rashiduzzaman Millat. Apart from this, ordinary working people without political involvement have also been arrested.

Meanwhile, many people alleged that innocent people are also being arrested in the ongoing operation. BNP claims that its leaders and activists are being arrested in a sluggish manner. However, law enforcers said that no one is harassed who was not involved in the killings and sabotage. Detainees as suspects are being released if they are not found involved after verification.
