BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called on the government to resign over the killings that took place across the country around the quota reform movement. He also asked the government to resign immediately by handing over power to a non-partisan, neutral government to hold an impartial election and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

He said this in a statement sent to the media on Saturday (July 27).

Fakhrul said that this government is continuing torture in the name of murders, cases, harassment, and remand to retain power illegally. Many are being tortured and crippled before being brought to court. Later, remanded to the judicial department, and torture was carried out.

He said, the image of remand that appeared in the media when Nurul Haque was brought to the court after remand, will stir anyone. He was tortured in remand to such an extent that he could not stand.

He also said, PM visiting hospitals after shooting and paralyzing students, crying and talking to help them is another example of deceiving people. So I ask this government to resign immediately and take responsibility for all the killings.
