Awami League wants to sit with coordinators

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina directed to sit with Quota protest coordinators to calm the ongoing situation by showing maximum tolerance. That's why she assigned the responsibility to Awami League leader Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Mahbubul Alam Hanif and AFM Bahauddin Nasim. She also directed to include senior leaders of 14 party alliance in this team.

An emergency meeting was held in this regard at Gonobhaban on Friday (August 2) night.

It is known that due to the ongoing quota reform movement, the ruling party facing adverse conditions at home and abroad. In this situation, the team wants to take a step carefully without making any hasty decision. They want to handle the situation without stepping into any provocation.

Several leaders present at the meeting stated that Awami League has no objection to the students' movement. However, the party president instructed to be alert and careful so that the third party could not use them to get benefits. Awami League leaders and activists have also been asked to monitor and deal with the situation patiently. However, she also instructed that no one should behave wrong on behalf of the students.

They also said, we want a peaceful environment in the country. The country is suffering a lot. Import and export are affected. In the meantime, the quota has been reformed according to their demands. A judicial inquiry committee has been constituted for a proper investigation into the casualty incident. It will also be judged properly. The government will listen to them.

Apart from the president of the party, general secretary Obaidul Quader, member of the presidium Dr. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Advocate Kamrul Islam, Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Law Minister Anisul Haque, Party General Joint Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Dr. Dipu Moni, Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Education State Minister Shamshun Nahar Chapa, Information State Minister Mohammad Ali Arafat, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua and others were also present on the meeting.

Meanwhile, on Thursday (August 2), the ongoing anti-discrimination student movement held a mass rally across the country. People from various professions including poets, writers, teachers and doctors also participated in the rally.
