Order to stop Mobile internet across country
On the first day of the students' non-cooperation movement, the government ordered suspension of mobile internet. It decided in context of to stop the spread of protests and violence.
A government agency ordered the shutdown of mobile internet on Sunday (August 4).
Users in different parts of the country reported around 1 pm that they are unable to use 4G internet.
The mobile operator companies said that the mobile network has been ordered to be down from 1 pm.
As a result, social media including Facebook-WhatsApp cannot be used on mobile internet.
However, no decision has been made so far regarding broadband internet. International Internet gateways providing Internet to ISPs have not yet received any regulatory directives.
Earlier, social media like Facebook and Messenger were ordered to be blocked last Saturday. Six hours later they were opened.
