China not to interfere in Bangladesh's internal affairs: Yao Wen

Yao Wen, China's ambassador in Dhaka, said that China will not interfere in Bangladesh's internal affairs. He even assured to stand by Bangladesh in any geopolitical situation.

Yao Wen gave the assurance in a meeting held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Wednesday (21 August). In the meeting, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, member of the Standing Committee Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Dr Abdul Moin Khan, Vice Chairman Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Nurul Islam Moni and Legal Affairs Secretary Barrister kayser Kamal participated.

After the meeting, the Chinese ambassador came out to meet the journalists and said that the discussion with BNP had created a great opportunity, and a good discussion was held. In the meeting, we discussed cooperation.

Regarding the current political situation, Yao Wen said that China will not interfere in the internal affairs of Bangladesh. We support the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. There is support for the interim government; I hope the situation will be normal within a few days.
