Former NBR Chairman Nojibur Rahman Arrested

Nojibur Rahman, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office and ex-chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), has been arrested.

He was detained from the capital late on Sunday night, October 6.

Confirming the arrest, Additional Police Commissioner (DB) of DMP, Rezaul Karim Mallik, told the media that Nojibur Rahman, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office and NBR Chairman, was taken into custody. He will be presented before the court on Monday, October 7.

Notably, Nojibur Rahman became the Chairman of the NBR and Secretary of the Internal Resources Division in 2015. On December 31, 2017, he was appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office. After two years, he went on post-retirement leave on December 30, 2019.
