TIB Research:
Tk51,000 Crore Corruption in 14 Years of Road Development Projects
According to Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), between 29,230 crore and 50,835 crore Taka in corruption occurred in the construction works of development projects implemented under the Roads and Highways Department in the last 14 years.
This information was revealed on Wednesday morning at the TIB office in Dhanmondi during the presentation of the findings of a study titled "Challenges of Good Governance in the Implementation of Road and Highway Development Projects."
The study focused on development projects under the Roads and Highways Department of the Road Transport and Highways Division within the Annual Development Program (ADP).
Particular emphasis was placed on domestically funded projects, selecting those with budgets below 1,000 crore Taka for the research.
