Voting Rights Must be Ensured to Prevent Conspiracies: Tarique Rahman
Tarique Rahman, the Acting Chairman of BNP stated that the conspiracy against the country has not stopped until the right to vote is ensured.
He said this at the inauguration and discussion meeting of the farmers' training program at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital's Kakrail area on Saturday (November 9) afternoon.
Tarique Rahman said that conspiracy cannot be stopped if democracy cannot be restored. Nothing good can happen if accountability cannot be ensured. It should be ensured that the vote takes place. People will vote for whoever they want.
Tarique Rahman said that the farmers' party should be built based on farmers. We should listen to their problems and find solutions. Attention should be paid to the agricultural sector.
He also said that the canal digging program of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman will be started again. Farmers do not get the required water in many places. It hinders crop production.
Tarique Rahman said that agricultural loans of up to 5,000 were waived off during Khaleda Zia's tenure. The government used to bear the electricity bill during the harvest season. Through this, some problems of farmers have been solved.
He also said that to produce food for 20 crore people, importance should be given to agriculture. It is not possible to import food for so many people. So basic food should be produced within the country.
The Acting Chairman of BNP announced a farmers' rally in every union for the next three months from November 10.
