Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed expressed regret for the statement given regarding the removal of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's photo from Bangabhaban.

He expressed this regret in a statement on Tuesday (November 12) afternoon.

Rizvi said in the statement, "Today (Tuesday, November 12) at 10:30 am, I stated, "Sheikh Mujib's picture should not have been removed from the Bangabhaban."

"I made this statement while delivering speech as a chief guest at the free medical camp and blood donation program at BNP's Head Quarters in the capital's Naya Paltan area," he added.

He said, "My attention was drawn to that news published today in the media about 'Sheikh Mujib's picture has been removed from Bangabhaban.' I thought Sheikh Mujib's picture was removed from the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban where all the President's pictures are kept.

Originally the picture was removed from another office room in Bangabhaban."

In the statement, Rizvi also said, "Sheikh Hasina's fascist regime has made it mandatory to keep pictures of Sheikh Mujib. Fascist laws can have no effect. The office-court should not bear the mark of maladministration everywhere.

I am sorry for the unsolicited statement."
