The exam schedule for the postponed honors exams of the seven government colleges in the capital affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) has been revised again.

On Thursday, December 5, Dhaka University's Controller of Examinations, Md Bahalul Haque Chowdhury, issued a notice detailing the changes.

According to the notice, the previously published schedules on October 31 and December 2 for the 4th and 1st-year honors exams of 2023 have been updated. Accordingly:

  • Fourth-year postponed exams will now take place on December 26 and 31, 2024.
  • First-year postponed exams will be held on December 29, 2024.
  • All exams will start at 12:30 pm.

The notice also mentions that the remaining parts of the schedule will remain unchanged.

Lastly, exam centers were instructed to ensure all students were properly informed about these changes, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.

Earlier on December 2, another notice stated that the postponed exams originally scheduled for November 25 and 27 had been rescheduled. Among them:

  • The fourth-year exam, initially planned for November 26, 2024, will now be held on January 6, 2025.
  • The first-year exam, originally scheduled for November 28, 2024, will be conducted on February 10, 2025, at 12:30 pm.

The exams were postponed due to incidents of vandalism at Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College, Shaheed Suhrawardy College, and Kabi Nazrul Government College in the Jatrabari area of Dhaka. Following these incidents, the exams scheduled for November 26 were postponed, and later, the November 28 exams were also deferred due to the lack of improvement in the situation.

After the initial rescheduling, students expressed dissatisfaction with the new dates and submitted appeals to college principals and the Controller of Examinations for closer, more convenient dates. In response, the latest revised schedule has been announced.
