Bangladesh, Timor-Leste Sign Two Memorandum of Understandings

Bangladesh and Timor-Leste have signed two instruments on visa exemption and the establishment of a bilateral consultation mechanism (BCM) aiming to bring the relations between the two nations to a new height.

The MoUs were signed on Sunday (December 15), at the office of the Chief Adviser in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta and the Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus were present at the ceremony.

Earlier on Saturday, December 14, Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta arrived in Dhaka for a four-day visit. He was welcomed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government. Ramos-Horta received a red carpet reception there. He was accompanied by Timor-Leste Foreign Minister and a 19-member delegation.
