Advisor Hassan Ariff's 2nd Namaz-E-Janaza Held at SC Premises

The 2nd Funeral (Namaz-E-Janaza) of AF Hassan Ariff, an interim government advisor on land, civil aviation and tourism, has been held at the Supreme Court premises.

The Funeral took place on Saturday (December 21) at 11:00 am.

Earlier on Friday (December 20), the first Funeral prayer (Namaz-E-Janaza) was held at the Baitul Aman Mosque in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

He will be buried at the Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard after Zuhr prayers.

Advisor AF Hassan Ariff passed away on Friday at 3:10 pm due to a heart attack. He was 83 years old at the time of his death.

On August 8, Hassan Ariff was sworn in as an advisor to the interim government. During the caretaker government led by Fakhruddin Ahmed, he also served as an advisor for the ministries of law, justice, parliamentary affairs, and land and religious affairs. Additionally, he was the Attorney General from 2001 to April 28, 2005.

Hassan Ariff was born on July 10, 1941 in Kolkata. He completed his secondary and higher secondary education at St Xavier's College, Kolkata, and earned his bachelor's and LLB degrees from the University of Calcutta.

In 1967, he was enrolled as a lawyer at the Kolkata High Court in West Bengal, India. Later, he moved to Dhaka and began practising at the Bangladesh High Court. In 1970, he was enrolled as a lawyer in the High Court of Bangladesh.
