More than 3 lakh 10 thousand govt posts vacant: Ashraful

Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam said, at present there are 3 lakh 10 thousand 511 posts vacant under different ministries and directorates.

The minister delivered the information in the Jatiya Sangsad while replying to the written question of Member of Parliament of Natore-1 constituency Md. Abul Kalam.

Syed Ashraful Islam said, the number of total vacant posts under different departments and corporations of ministry of public administration is 2 thousand 596. The specific date of fulfilling the vacant posts cannot possible to mention because recruitment is under process in some departments and corporation, some posts will be fulfilled by promotion and some posts will be fulfilled by Bangladesh Public Service Commission.

While replying to star marked question of Member of Parliament from Sylhet-5 constituency Selim Uddin, the minister said, before imposing Service Rule 2015 (salary and allowances) the officials of public service were divided into 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th classes. In class wise 1^st to 9^th grades were 1^st class, 10^th to 13^th grades were 2^nd class, 14^th to 16^th grades were 3^rd class and 17^th to 20^th grades were 4^th class.
