The court has granted remand for five individuals in separate murder cases filed at the Jatrabari Police Station in Dhaka. The individuals include Salman F Rahman, the former private industry and investment adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina; former Law Minister Anisul Huq; Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President and former Minister Hasanul Haq Inu; Workers Party of Bangladesh President and former Minister Rashed Khan Menon; and former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.

On Monday, January 20, the accused were presented in court, where the investigating officers requested their remand for further investigation. Defense lawyers sought to cancel the remand and applied for bail, while Public Prosecutor Omar Faruq Faruqi argued in favour of the remand. After hearing arguments from both sides, Dhaka's Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman approved the remand petitions.

In connection with the Zisan murder case filed at Jatrabari Police Station, the court placed Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq, Hasanul Haq Inu, Rashed Khan Menon, and Abdullah Al-Mamun on a five-day remand. Similarly, in the Mehedi Hasan murder case filed at the same station, the court approved a five-day remand for Anisul Huq, Hasanul Haq Inu, Rashed Khan Menon, and Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.

Earlier in the day, Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq, and 16 others were officially shown arrested in various cases by the court.
