He made this remark on Wednesday (January 22) during a meeting with ASEAN leaders at the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Dr. Yunus emphasized that young people will bring forward innovative ideas and technologies to society, which will have a significant impact on the economy. Therefore, it is essential to bring youth to the forefront.
Highlighting the need to stop merely following existing models and adopt new approaches to shape the future of the ASEAN region, he further added that the economy must be built on social entrepreneurship initiatives, which should also be reflected in the ASEAN framework.
The Chief Advisor also stated that educational institutions can be utilized to prepare youth for entrepreneurship. To build a different kind of society, the use of social business funds is essential.
