Director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Brigadier General Abdullah Al Harun said, the physical condition of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at present is as the same like she was brought from the jail on Saturday. The physicians of the medical board yet to check her physical condition. They checked the medical documents.
He said these at a press conference at 1 pm on Sunday.
Whether there is any member of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (SWACHIP) in the medical board-answering to such a question he said, it was clearly mentioned in the fourth para of the short summary that the three board members will be selected in such a way that they won’t be the executive members of DAB or SWACHIP except Professor MA Jalil Chowdhury and Associate Professor Badrunnesa Ahmed. There is no problem if they would be supporters or members.
He said, lawyers of Khaleda Zia came. They told me that treatment should be given according to the court verdict.
Answering to a question over BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed’s claim of providing physiotherapist and gynecologist according to Begum Khaleda Zia’s preference, he said, we will look into the matter if any appeal comes from Begum Khaleda Zia.
Whether the medical board was reformed or not- answering to this question he said, the medical board was not reformed. Our physician Dr. Sajal Krishna Banerjee went to Barishal on an emergency purpose, he will return on October 9. We have appointed Associate Professor Dr. Tanjina Parvin in place of Dr. Sajal.
The medical board visited Begum Khaleda Zia at her cabin number 612 of BSMMU hospital at around 11:30 am on Sunday.
Former chairman of BSMMU medicine department Professor Dr. MA Jalil Chowdhury is leading the medical board. The other board members are- physical medicine department Associate Professor Dr. Badrunnesa Ahmed, rheumatology department Professor Dr. Syed Atiqul Haque, cardiology department Professor Dr. Sajal Krishna Banerjee and former chairman of orthopedic department Professor Dr. Nakul Kumar Dutt.
