BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said, in election rights of all are equal but this Election Commission (EC) is working as subservient of the government.
He said these at the divisional public gathering held at the Alia Madrassa ground in Rajshahi on Friday.
Making a comment that the Prime Minister did not keep her promise, Moudud said, she promised that we could hold meetings, rallies uninterruptedly. But she did not keep that and sent more than two thousand leaders and workers to jail after arresting within 24 hours.
He said, the flow of people today proves that nobody wants this government. We held dialogue, placed 7-point demand but were not succeed. This government does not want to depart from power.
Moudud also said, the movement will continue until Khaleda Zia is released. We have to take preparation, no election like the previous will be allowed to hold.
The rally began at 2 pm with reciting from the holy Quran. Jatiya Oikya Front convener and Gonoforum president Dr. Kamal Hossain could not participate in the public meeting due to physical illness.
Jatiya Oikya Front Rajshahi divisional coordinator and BNP Chairperson’s advisor Mizanur Rahman Minu presided over the rally.
