
The Election Commission has declared nomination of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia as invalid. She collected nomination papers from Bogura-6, 7 and Feni-1 constituencies.
The Election Commission delivered the verdict on Saturday afternoon following filing appeal.
Earlier, the Election Commission declared nominations of Mirza Abbas and his wife Afroza Abbas from Dhaka-8 and Dhaka-9 constituencies respectively as valid. On the other hand the nomination paper of former minister and Trinamul BNP leader Nazmul Huda was declared as valid from Dhaka-17 constituency. But he cannot run for election with symbol of boat. The Election Commission declared him as an independent candidate. Nazmul Huda wanted to participate in election with symbol of boat.
His nomination paper was cancelled by the Returning Officer as his party is not a registered one and no party name was mentioned in his nomination paper.
