Awami League joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanok said, those who remain as rebel candidates in the field of vote against Awami League and grand alliance candidates have to withdraw their candidacies within two days. Strict organizational action will be taken against them if they do not withdraw candidacies in this time.
The Awami League leader who is responsible for electioneering gave this warning while answering questions to newsmen at a press conference at the Awami League president’s Dhanmondi political office on Saturday.
Nanok said, there is no rebel candidate in Awami League or grand alliance. There are some independent candidates. It is not more than one dozen and a half.
He also said, in the field of election those who are still remaining against their own party candidates of Awami League or grand alliance, they have to step down by December 17. To inform about stepping down they have to arrange press conference. They have to play active role in the field of vote for Awami League or grand alliance candidates. Otherwise we will take strict organizational steps.
