BNP unveils election manifesto
BNP has reviled its polls manifesto for the upcoming general election scheduled for December 30.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir read out the manifesto on behalf of party chief Khaleda Zia, who is now in jail.
National Standing Committee members Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were present during unveiling party’s manifesto at Hotel Lakeshore in the city on Tuesday.
In its election manifesto, Fakhrul said that it will not allow anyone to become prime minister for more than two consecutive terms.
The referendum will be reintroduced in the country if the party comes to power, he pledged.
Reports on BDR mutiny and Bangladesh Bank reserve heist will be published. The financial statements of prime minister, minister, MPs and high-ups of the government services will be published annually.
The Digital Security Act and the Special Powers Act -1974 will be scraped, said Fakhrul.
