BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has arrived in London, UK, for advanced medical treatment.
The air ambulance carrying her landed at Heathrow Airport at 2:55 PM Bangladesh time on Wednesday (January 8).
Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Khaleda Zia's personal physician and travel companion, confirmed the matter.
Earlier, on Tuesday (January 7) at around 11:30 PM, Khaleda Zia departed from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport aboard a special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar. The BNP chairperson had a layover at Hamad International Airport in Qatar early Wednesday morning (January 8), where she was met by Bangladesh's Ambassador to Qatar, Nazrul Islam, who inquired about her health.
Following the layover in Qatar, she arrived at London's Heathrow Airport at 2:55 PM Bangladesh time on Wednesday (January 8).
In London, Khaleda Zia will reunite with her son, Tarique Rahman, after seven and a half years. Accompanying her on this trip are 15 individuals, including her medical team and the late Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife, Sithi Rahman.
