e-passport, e-visa to be introduced: AL in manifesto

e-passport and e-visa will be introduced if Awami League goes to power. Awami League has given the promise in their election manifesto upholding the achievements in digital sector in the last 10 years.

Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared the manifesto titled ‘Bangladesh in pursuit of prosperity’ at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in the capital on Tuesday.

It is said in the manifesto, the reality of building digital Bangladesh in 2021 is already visible.

The largest web portal of the world ‘Tathya Batayan’ has been introduced consisting 25 thousand websites, which is praised and awarded internationally.

In association with providing national identity cards, smart cards and machine readable passports have been introduced.

Through launching Bangabandhu Satellite-1 in the space Bangladesh has entered into the space science era.

The export earning in digital sector has reached at 800 million dollars against 2.6 million dollars.

In this continuation e-passport and e-visa will be introduced. If Electronic Passport or e-passport is introduced then all the information of the passport holder will be available through number search from anywhere of the world. It will increase image of Bangladesh in the international arena.
