Jatiya Oikyafront top leader and Gono Forum President Dr. Kamal Hossain said, police are doing excess by raiding houses of Oikyafront candidates. On the other hand BGB members are raiding homes of leaders and activists, they are harassing. To hold a fair election in the country army is the only dependence.
He said these at a press conference organized at the temporary office of Oikyafront at Purana Paltan in the capital on Monday afternoon.
Dr. Kamal said, Oikyafront candidates and leaders-activists are not allowed to go on field. Even they are not allowed to sleep in their homes at night. At one end fair election is not being ensured in the country, on the other hand foreign observers are not given visas.
He said, though there is law to accept the resignation letter of upazila chairman but they are not allowed to run for election by the High Court. Our only dependence is that Bangladesh army is on field who played an unique role during the liberation war. People of the country expect free, fair and participatory election under safe environment from them.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Krishak Shramik Janata League President Bangabir Kader Siddique among others were present at the press conference.
