Jatiya Oikyafront top leader and Gono Forum President Dr. Kamal Hossain said, development does not turn meaningful if rights of people are not established. People will resist the anti people blueprint of the government and Election Commission (EC). Effective democracy and rule of law will be ensured in the country if people remain united.

He said these at a press conference at Jatiya Oikyafront’s central office at Purana Paltan in the capital at around 4:45 pm on Thursday. Earlier the Oikyafront leaders held one hour long meeting.

To the administration Dr. Kamal Hossain said, not for the party you should work for the country. Oikyafront will be victorious in the voting of December 30.

To the people he said, the way we ensured our victory on December 16, in that way we will be victorious in the voting of December 30. You have to make Oikyafront victorious by casting your votes for sheaf of paddy.

Dr. Kamal said, the current speeches of development are the rejected speech of Ayub Khan. We rejected this speech of Ayub Khan in 1971.

He said, people of this country became independent through fighting the autocrat. People of the country will not be sold to arms and money. The country might not be independent if they did not take their position against the autocrat.

Dr. Kamal said, we cannot move away from the election, we have to survive till the end as Awami League government is making people frightened.

He said, I have not seen this level of terrorism in my 50 years of political career. In most of the places from towns to the villages uniformed police have joined with the Awami League supporters. Mass arrests are going on. It is the main shame. Their main aim is to frighten the people so that they cannot come to the vote centers.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Krishak Shramik Janata League President Bangabir Kader Siddique also spoke on the occasion.
