Private Secretary to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, Shazeeb M Khairul Islam, on Monday delivered the Chief Adviser’s official condolence message for Begum Khaleda Zia to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The message was handed over this afternoon at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

In his letter, Professor Yunus expressed deep sorrow and profound shock over the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, the three-time former Prime Minister and a central figure in the nation's democratic struggle.

He offered prayers for the eternal peace of her soul and extended his heartfelt sympathies to her family, as well as to the leaders, activists, and supporters of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Begum Khaleda Zia, the nation's first female Prime Minister, passed away on the morning of December 30, 2024.

Following her death, the interim government declared three days of state mourning in recognition of her significant political legacy and contributions to the country.
