West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her congratulations to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman on Saturday, sending flowers and sweets to mark the BNP’s major victory in the 13th National Parliament Election and the concurrent constitutional Referendum, held on last Thursday.

The tokens of appreciation were delivered to the party’s Gulshan office and received by Media Cell member Atiqur Rahman Ruman and Special Officer Mehedul Islam Mehedi.

Earlier, in a significant cross-border diplomatic gesture, the West Bengal CM extended her warmest congratulations to Tarique Rahman following his party's decisive victory in the polls.

Taking to the social media platform X on Friday, she addressed the BNP leader as "Tarique-Bhai," lauding his leadership in guiding the party back to power.

In her heartfelt message, the Chief Minister reached out to the citizens of the neighboring country with the greeting "Shubhonandan," wishing them peace and prosperity.

She also included an advance "Ramazan Mubarak" to the people of Bangladesh, signaling a tone of communal harmony and regional brotherhood.
