Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, the head of the interim government, officially bid farewell to the officials and staff of the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) on Monday during a final gathering at the Tejgaon in Dhaka.

The address marks the conclusion of his 18-month tenure leading the interim government.

Following his speech, Professor Yunus joined the employees for a commemorative photo session, acknowledging the collective efforts of the staff who served throughout the transitional period.

According to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, the atmosphere was one of reflection as the administration prepares for a formal handover of power.

Professor Yunus’s term is set to end tomorrow, Tuesday, coinciding with the high-profile swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government led by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

His departure signals the final step in the transition from the interim administration to a parliamentary government under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.
