Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has officially congratulated Tarique Rahman on assuming office as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

In a formal congratulatory letter sent on Tuesday, Prime Minister Takaichi lauded Bangladesh’s recent democratic progress and expressed her enthusiasm for working with the new administration.

She emphasized Japan’s commitment to deepening the existing "Strategic Partnership" between the two nations, which remains a cornerstone of their bilateral relations.

This diplomatic gesture follows the landmark victory of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the formal swearing-in ceremony held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban this afternoon.
