LGRD and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited BNP Standing Committee Member and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed at Evercare Hospital on Friday night.

During the visit, Fakhrul inquired about the veteran leader's health and urged the nation to pray for his swift and full recovery.

Mirza Abbas was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday night after suddenly falling ill and losing consciousness during iftar.

While initial plans were made to fly him to Singapore for advanced medical care, his deteriorating condition prompted local specialists to proceed with emergency surgery in Dhaka.

According to hospital sources, the senior leader underwent two complex brain surgeries on Friday.

The first procedure began in the afternoon, followed by a second operation later in the evening as deemed necessary by the medical team.

"With everyone's prayers, the two operations of Mirza Abbas have been completed successfully," Mirza Fakhrul stated following the visit.

He added that the veteran politician is currently under intensive observation in the recovery unit.

"He is now under the close observation of doctors. We ask everyone to pray for his full recovery," Fakhrul said, as confirmed by his Assistant Private Secretary (APS) Md Younus Ali.

Medical professionals at Evercare Hospital have indicated that the next 48 to 72 hours will be critical as they monitor his post-operative progress.

The sudden illness of the high-profile advisor has drawn significant attention, with party members and well-wishers gathering at the hospital to show support.
