Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon the nation to unite in building a Bangladesh entirely free from discrimination.

"The real lesson of sacrifice is standing beside the helpless people and serve the humanity," he said while speaking to reporters after offering his morning Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the Thakurgaon Central Eidgah on Thursday.

Following the congregation, the Minister warmly exchanged Eid greetings with the gathered devotees. He urged the people to forget all mutual differences and take a solemn oath to build a nation rooted in equality.

Reiterating the government's and his party's vision for the country, Mirza Fakhrul stated, "We want to build Bangladesh by eliminating all inequalities and discrimination."

Reflecting on the deeper spiritual meaning of the festival's main ritual, he remarked, "About the Qurbani, he said, this is not a killing, but a symbolic lesson of sacrifice."

The main Eid prayers at the central Eidgah were led by Alhaj Maulana Md. Khalilur Rahman, who also delivered the festive sermon. Following the prayers, a special supplication was held seeking the continuous welfare, peace, and progress of the nation.

Thakurgaon University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Israfil Shaheen, along with local government officials and senior BNP leaders, were present among the devotees on the occasion.
