The body of former Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam will be brought to Dhaka on Saturday afternoon. His body will reach at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 5:30 pm tomorrow.
The information came through a press release of Awami League on Friday evening.
The release said, leaders of Awami League led by General Secretary Obaidul Quader will receive the dead body. From there the body will be taken to Syed Ashraf’s government residence at 21 Baily Road at 7 pm. Later the body will be kept at Combined Military Hospital mortuary.
The first namaj e janaza of late Syed Ashraful Islam will be held at the South plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 10 am on Sunday. Then his body will be taken to Kishoreganj boarded on a helicopter. The second namaj e janaza will be held at Kishoreganj old stadium ground at 12 pm. Later after holding third namaj e janaza at Anjuman Eidgah ground in Mymensingh at 2 pm late Syed Ashraful Islam will be buried at Banani graveyard in the capital after Asr prayers.
The 68 years old politician Syed Ashraful Islam was undergoing treatment at Bumrungrad hospital in Thailand. He was suffering from lung cancer. He breathed his last there on Thursday night.
President Md. Abdul Hamid, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury expressed deep shock following his death. Besides the leaders of Awami League, Jatiya Oikyafront and Jatiya Party have also expressed condolence.
