The dead body of Awami League presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim’s grandson Zayan Chowdhury will be brought in Bangladesh on Wednesday (April 24) noon. Zayan was killed in bomb attack in Sri Lanka. Awami League acting general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif confirmed the information.
Earlier it was known from Sheikh Selim’s family source that Zayan’s dead body will be brought in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
Hanif later informed the media that as the formalities was not completed in Sri Lanka so it will take one more day to bring the dead body in the country.
Family source said, Zayan’s dead body will be taken to the house of Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim MP at Banani from the airport. After necessary procedures his body will be taken to Banani graveyard for burial.
After going to Sri Lanka in a trip with his parents the eight years old boy Zayan fell victim of Sunday’s gruesome series bomb attacks. His father Moshiul Haque Chowdhury Prince was also injured in the incident. Prince at the moment is undergoing treatment in Colombo and will not be drought back in the country.
Sheikh Selim’s daughter Sheikh Amena Sultana Sonia went to Sri Lanka in a trip with his husband and two sons. They were in a hotel which was hit by the bomb attackers on Sunday during the Easter Sunday services in that country.
On the day of attack Prince and his elder son Zayan were having breakfast on the ground floor restaurant of the hotel. Sonia and her younger son Zohan were in the hotel room at that time.
