President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday urged members of Bangladesh Ansar and the Village Defense Party (VDP) to assume a more impactful part in upholding public order at the local level alongside engaging in constructive state-building endeavors.

The head of state issued this directive when Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Director General (DG) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud executed a courtesy visit to the President at Bangabhaban this afternoon.

President's Press Secretary Md. Sarwar Alam disclosed this to a local media during a post-meeting briefing.

Throughout the session, the President commended the Ansar personnel for their dedicated efforts in safeguarding public safety following the mass uprising, the 13th national election, and diverse alternative operations with utmost accountability.

He underscored the necessity of rendering force members proficient and career-focused via foreign-language, technical, and technological coaching, in tandem with augmenting their professional standards, orderliness, and community outreach.

The Director General felicitated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir upon his assumption of office during the dialogue.

He updated the President regarding multiple initiatives undertaken by the service, encompassing the delivery of premium training, compilation of personnel databases, and the launch of microcredit schemes.

He additionally highlighted grassroots measures implemented by the organization concerning solar energy generation and requested the chief executive's directives for executing their duties.

The President commemorated the foundational role played by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman in setting up Ansar battalions, while paying glowing tribute to the contributions of former Prime Minister and national leader Begum Khaleda Zia toward modernizing the force, passing relevant legislation, and establishing Ansar Bank.

Mirza Fakhrul remarked that Bangladesh Ansar and VDP stands as the nation's most extensive community-centric security and discipline agency.

He lauded the institution's achievements in promoting solar power production, human capital enrichment, triumphs in athletic and cultural arenas, and civic-focused initiatives.

Furthermore, the President exhorted the organization to formulate enhanced programs and ventures aimed at positive national development.
