Prime Minister Tarique Rahman appealed to students on Tuesday to maintain cleanliness in their residences, academic institutions, and immediate environments by ensuring no water remains idle, thereby curbing the transmission of dengue.

“Everyone has to be aware of dengue prevention. We must ensure that no water remains stagnant in or around our homes. Regular cleanliness can significantly help prevent the spread of dengue,” he stated.

The head of government conveyed these remarks this afternoon when a delegation of students hailing from Kalmakanda Girls High School in Netrakona visited him at his official office area situated within the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, as briefed by Deputy Press Secretary Md. Suzauddhowla (Sujon Mahmud).

Furthermore, the Prime Minister encouraged the youth to incorporate regular athletic activities into their academic routines and to exhibit compassion toward animals and other living beings.

Urging learners to cultivate sanitation as a habitual practice starting from their own households, PM Tarique Rahman remarked, “Keep yourselves and your surroundings clean, and make your family members, friends and neighbours aware as well. Your small initiatives can help build a clean and healthy society.”

Throughout the conversation, the Prime Minister engaged the students by inquiring about their academic status, including their grade levels, educational advancement, and career aspirations for the future.

Emphasizing the vital role of sports and physical exercise in fostering overall bodily and psychological well-being, he advised that pupils should avoid restricting their focus solely to academic texts and instead carve out time for continuous play and physical training.

“You have to use your time wisely and work to become good human beings,” he said.

The premier also advocated for kindness toward animals, noting that cruelty toward them must be avoided entirely. “Caring for helpless and voiceless animals around us reflects the values of a humane society,” he observed.

A cohort of 42 students spanning grades six through ten arrived at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on this day to witness an ongoing parliamentary session firsthand, accompanied by five faculty members and two representatives from the school managing board.

During the course of their legislative observation tour, the students secured the rare opportunity to interact face-to-face with the Prime Minister.

The visiting youth conveyed immense delight and enthusiasm over speaking directly with PM Tarique Rahman, committing themselves to put his counsel into practice while disseminating the awareness messages among their relatives, peers, and local residents.
