Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to officially launch a comprehensive three-month nationwide initiative on Saturday designed to combat the spread of dengue fever and foster community sanitation.
“A three-month nationwide ‘Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign’ will begin on September 12 to prevent dengue, as the prevalence of the disease has increased in the capital Dhaka and different parts of the country,” noted an official press release disseminated on Thursday.
The premier will commence the countrywide drive at 9 am on Saturday from the South Plaza located at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, the announcement specified.
In alignment with public welfare priorities, state broadcasters Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, alongside all independent television networks, have been formally requested to transmit the opening ceremony through live broadcasts, the communiqué added.
