Prime minister's adviser and office spokesperson Mahdi Amin stated on Monday that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s official six-day itinerary for the eighty-first United Nations General Assembly in the United States prioritizes public welfare and national safeguarding over ceremonial pageantry or power projection, characterizing the engagement as a landmark historical juncture.

Writing on his verified Facebook profile, Mahdi Amin detailed that the delegation comprises thirty-five official members—including fifteen ministers, state ministers, advisers and special assistants alongside security, media, and personal support staff—structured around single transit days for arrival and departure and four intensive working days of bilateral, multilateral, and UN high-level sessions.

Departing Dhaka for New York Monday morning, the prime minister follows former leaders Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia onto the global UN roster as the family's third representative, addressing national governance policies and future agendas under a significant electoral mandate.

Highlighting a concurrent diplomatic milestone, Mahdi Amin noted that the UN General Assembly presidency is held by the head of the prime minister's foreign ministry.

Framing the journey beyond conventional diplomacy, the spokesperson declared, "This is not just a foreign visit. It is not just about presenting Bangladesh at the United Nations. It is the international representation of the aspirations of people. It is a legacy of emotion, feelings and ideals.
