The Ministry of Home Affairs has made One-Time Password (OTP) verification mandatory for visitors entering the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Instructions have been issued prohibiting the entry of any visitor into the Secretariat without valid OTP verification.

The directive was issued in a gazette notification on Wednesday (September 30) by the Secretariat Security Branch of the Home Affairs Ministry, signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Tofail Hossain.

The notification stated that there has been a recent increase in the tendency of visitors entering the Secretariat without proper entry passes or authorization.

Unauthorised entry of this nature poses risks to the overall security arrangements of the Secretariat and threatens to disrupt the normal environment of official government operations.

In light of this situation, authorities have been instructed to rigorously verify the OTP of every visitor prior to entry.

Relevant personnel have been directed to grant entry to visitors only after the verification process is successfully completed.

The notification noted that this directive has been implemented as part of efforts to reinforce security and regulate unauthorized entry.
