
Three earthquakes struck near the India-Myanmar border regions within a span of an hour and a half, sending tremors across various parts of the country, including Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Feni, and Dhaka.
The tremors occurred between 12:12 AM and 1:27 AM on Sunday night (October 4).
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first earthquake, measuring 4.9 in magnitude, struck the Myanmar-Bangladesh border region at 12:12 AM.
Just one minute later, at 12:13 AM, a second earthquake of magnitude 5.0 hit the border region between Bangladesh and India, near Lunglei in India's Mizoram state.
The third tremor, measuring 3.8 in magnitude, occurred at 1:27 AM near Agartala in India's Tripura state.
Light tremors from this quake were also reported in Dhaka and other areas.
The back-to-back earthquakes caused panic among residents in various areas.
However, no information regarding any casualties or damage has been reported so far.
