Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the OIC, Ambassador MJH Jabed, on Tuesday held a meeting with the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the OIC, Ambassador Khalid Bin Ismaeel Bin Badawi Bin Hussain Al Sharif, to discuss the upcoming 52nd Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) conference scheduled to take place in Baghdad.

During the interaction, Ambassador Jabed conveyed Bangladesh's complete solidarity with brotherly Saudi Arabia following recent Houthi strikes targeting various civilian infrastructures across the Kingdom which resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives, including two Bangladeshi citizens.

The Saudi envoy expressed deep appreciation to the people and Government of Bangladesh for standing firmly alongside the Kingdom during the unprovoked Houthi attacks launched in violation of international law.

Furthermore, the Saudi Ambassador assured continued assistance regarding the Rohingya repatriation initiative and remarked that an anticipated favorable ruling from the International Court of Justice (ICJ)—establishing accountability for acts of genocide—would establish a groundbreaking precedent within international human rights jurisprudence.

Both diplomats concurred on adopting a synchronized strategy across key sectors, including commerce and finance, agriculture, public healthcare, as well as science and technology, across various OIC platforms.
