Police Headquarters has requested information regarding criminal cases and departmental disciplinary records concerning 357 officers from the 30th and 31st batches of the BCS Police Cadre.
A official letter was dispatched to various police units across the country, instructing them to submit the required details by November 3.
The instruction was issued in a letter sent on Sunday (November 1) from the Crime Analysis Wing of Police Headquarters. Among the officers whose details were requested, 179 belong to the 30th BCS batch and 178 to the 31st BCS batch.
The letter asked units to report whether any criminal cases are pending against the respective officers and, if so, to provide the latest status and updated information on those cases. The information must be sent in both hard copy and soft copy formats within the stipulated deadline.
Signed by AIG (Crime Analysis) Mohammad Saifullah, the letter was sent to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Additional IG of Railway Police, DIGs of various ranges, and Commissioners of various metropolitan police units.
Earlier on Thursday (October 29), the Personnel Management-1 Wing of Police Headquarters also instructed units to urgently provide information on departmental discipline and criminal cases regarding the officers concerned. Following up on that, the Crime Analysis Wing has requested the information once again from the respective units.
All 357 officers on the list hold the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police or Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police. They are currently serving across various units of the police service, including Police Headquarters, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Armed Police Battalion (APBn), various range and district police units, Highway Police, Industrial Police, and In-Service Training Centers.
In addition to their current places of posting, the list mentions special statuses for a few officers. One officer is listed as temporarily suspended, while another is noted to be on deputation at the Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia.
