Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated that everyone conspiring against the country, both from within and outside, will be given a fitting response one by one.

He made these remarks on Saturday (November 9) while addressing a pre-rally gathering organized at the capital's Naya Paltan to mark BNP's National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

The Prime Minister said that after many years, the people of the country have gained the opportunity to freely observe Revolution and Solidarity Day. However, a group has once again engaged in conspiracies against the nation.

Just as in the past, attempts are being made to obstruct the democratic rights and freedom of the people through plots. But it will not be possible to suppress the people of this country through any conspiracy.

Recalling the 1971 War of Liberation, Tarique Rahman said that the people of Bangladesh left their homes and liberated the country through the supreme sacrifice of millions.

The expectation behind independence was to establish a democratic Bangladesh where the rights and aspirations of the people would be reflected.

However, right from the aftermath of independence, various quarters both inside and outside the country could not accept Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty.

They attempted to suppress common people and snatch away their democratic rights. That was how the politics of conspiracy and subjugation began in the country.

Referring to the events of November 7, 1975, the Prime Minister noted that on that day, the anti-independence and anti-sovereignty evil forces were defeated through the united role of the soldiers and the public.

Through this, democracy was ushered in once again in Bangladesh. However, the quarter unable to accept independence, sovereignty, and the democratic rights of the people obstructed the nation's democratic progress at various times through conspiracies, repeatedly attempting to snatch away voting rights.

He added that the people of Bangladesh re-established their democratic rights through the mass movement of 1990.

Yet, in subsequent times, those rights of the people were impeded in various ways.

Most recently, on August 5, 2024, through the student-led mass movement, the people of the country restored their democratic rights and sovereignty.

Just like November 7, 1975, the public unitedly defeated the evil forces on August 5, 2024.

The Prime Minister further stated that the movement of August 5, 2024, was not only limited to restoring the country's sovereignty and democratic rights; at the same time, the students and general public ousted the autocratic regime from the country.

In the past as well, the people of Bangladesh stood united against injustice to establish their rights. Therefore, no conspiracy can halt the movement and achievements of the people.

Highlighting the current situation, Tarique Rahman said that, as in the past, a group has once again engaged in plotting against the country.

They want to obstruct Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty while trying to derail the politics of franchise and the democratic electoral system.

However, the 1971 Liberation War, November 7 of 1975, the 1990 mass uprising, and the events of August 5, 2024, prove that the people of this nation know how to stand united against injustice. No conspiracy can hold them down.

Issuing a call for national unity among the country's political parties, the Prime Minister said that all political forces believing in Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty and favoring the people's right to vote must work together.

There may be differences of opinion among political parties, but there should be no division when it comes to the nation's independence and sovereignty.

Everyone must remain united in the national interest.

Calling for a collective resistance against those conspiring from inside and outside the country, the Prime Minister concluded by stating that just like various past movements and mass uprisings, conspirators will be given a tooth-for-a-tooth response this time as well.

Taking along the democracy-loving people of the country, every single conspiracy will be answered one by one. No power will be able to deprive the people of Bangladesh of their democratic rights.
