Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek said, five to seven thousand physicians will be appointed soon. Of them 60 per cent will be female physicians.
He said this at a press conference at the secretariat on Sunday on the occasion of nutrition week.
The Health Minister said, there is a little shortage in our manpower. We have appointed 15 thousand nurses in 2 years. Physician employment process is ongoing. We will be able to appoint 5 to 7 thousand physicians within a short span of time. 60 per cent appointment will be made from female physicians. According to the statistics, 60 per cent female students were admitted in the medical colleges.
Zahid Malek said, there should be Breast Feeding Corner in each government office, court and hospital. It is increasing. I will not deny that there is shortage of Breast Feeding Corners. We will look in to the matter of setting up this corner in those places where it is not available.
