BNP has declared three-day long programs demanding release of its Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Among the programs there are, human chain throughout the country including Dhaka on Monday, staging sit-in program on Tuesday and hunger strike from 9 am to 5 pm all over the country on Wednesday.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi declared the fresh programs at a press conference at the party central office in Nayapaltan on Saturday.
Judge of Dhaka-5 special court delivered the verdict of Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on Thursday. In the verdict BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was awarded five years imprisonment and other five including BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman were sentenced 10 years imprisonment each.
In protest of the verdict BNP observed demonstration on Friday after Juma prayer and protest programs on Saturday.
At 2 pm on Saturday lawyers of Khaleda Zia went to the jail with application for providing jail division considering her physical and social status. But the jail security personnel barred them to enter over the barricade of jail gate and told them to submit the letter in Prisons Department. After not getting the permission the lawyers then moved towards Prisons Department.
